Leonard stepped away from the window as the jogger slowly made her way off, unaware that she was being peeped on thru a magically enhanced artifact such as the one he'd created. With it there was no doubt he could assist the medical community or offer a winning bid for a military contract, maybe even win a noble prize with the time-space and mind functions of the telescope. But putting that aside, he figured he'd use it for a more domestic use - seeing what his sister was up to.
Leonard's sister, Lisa of age 12 was often said to be a rather brainy sort of girl. That would be quite an understatement really. Nevermind all the name-calling and comparisons she got to Lisa Simpson or whatever cartoon, she seldom minded the minds of lesser minded folk. She was in her lab, working on a transmorgifier identifier apparatus that could not only pin-point trajectory changes in reality but quantify any quantum fluctuations of any kind, even those considered 'magic' in any sense.
Other gadgets, gizmos, test tubes and beakers sat around in her closet, refurnished as a makeshift laboratory for her tinkering. Originally she used the garage but Leonard was rather adamant on replacing all the technology she built with a workout gym he could use to train in case of an alien invasion.
When aliens came and recruited him, he wanted to be ready and prepared to fight against the earth armies, absolutely prepared.
While he spied on her working, the girl fixing her glasses and wearing her rubbery white labcoat over a navy-green sweater and stuffy jeans. She snapped on yellow rubber gloves and mixed some chemicals into the device's battery as she took a blow torch to weld its fuse on tightly, unaware she was being watched. Leonard was able to detect other signatures with his telescope - different types of radiation and electrical energy, flowing in her room. He was always both terrified and glad to have such a sibling.
Especially when that sibling was a scientific super-genius who could build any device or solution on the fly.
