Next up was Mikey.
"Okay champ, let's see if you keep your record!"
"What record?" Jon asked. Since Jon was still new to the game from the stone change, he had no idea what Mikey's record was.
"You're telling me you forgot? Mikey never became female once!" It was true. Although every family member spent some time on the other side of the gender fence, Mikey never did. Everyone thought it was just a random coincidence but it wasn't. You see for the whole time the family has been playing the game, Mikey was just a little boy. Mikey HATED girls! He thought they had cooties! Mikey couldn't stand the thought of becoming an icky girl for a week so he took matters into his own hands. Mikey always volunteered to help his mom get the names ready for the game. When Linda wasn't looking though, Mikey would carefully rip the edges of all the male names. All Mikey had to do was pull out a ripped paper and boom! He'd stay cootie-free.
"It's just dumb luck," Mikey said with a mischievous grin. Linda looked over the edge of her glass of water carefully at Mikey while he picked a name.
Mikey moved his arm around inside the bag for a minute. Then two minutes. Then three.
"Ugh come on! Just pick a name already..." Zoe scoffed.
"I'm trying! Something isn't right!"
"You mean like ripping all the papers so you can always stay a boy?" Linda chimed in. Mikey's face went white. "Don't you think I didn't find out young man. And when this week is over, you can expect to be grounded."
"Aww come on!!" Mikey crossed his arms.
"Linda he's just a boy. No need to ground him. It was pretty clever," Roger chuckled while putting his hand on his wife's shoulder.
Linda turned and gave Roger a glare as if to say "You know how seriously we take this game."
Roger fell in line. "Right." He put his hand on Mikey's back. "It'll be okay sport. Being a woman can be exciting! I'll tell you, when I was Sarah Macmillan for a week-" Roger paused to see the whole family staring at him. "I better go get the phone!" The phone wasn't ringing but Roger still went to the kitchen.
With a huff, Mikey pulled a name out of the bag. "Susan Macmillan??"
Jon burst out laughing. Even Zoe couldn't help but crack a grin. Linda would've been laughing at Mikey's justice too if she wasn't personally jealous of Susan.
"It'll be a good opportunity for you," said Linda.
Susan was the housewife of one of the richest men in town. She was also one of the most beautiful. Susan just wasn't a trophy wife though. She took being a stay at home mom to whole new levels. Susan made sure to always keep her estate in tip top shape and deck it out with lavish furniture and fashions. She had the skill of a head chef. Susan earned multiple awards from Good Housekeeping and even won the praise of Martha Stewart. When Susan wasn't being an award winning homemaker, she was a busy socialite, throwing parties for all the important people in town. High fashion. Award winning homemaking. Being a social butterfly. Mikey had a big week ahead of him! Who knows how he'll enjoy his first week being female?
