"What? What happened to me?" Natalie asked, clearly frightened by what just happened to her.
Chris looked up at her from the couch. "Do you believe me now?"
She was in a state of shock. She couldn't answer. "I wasn't myself. I wasn't in control. I ..."
Chris stood up and grabbed her and shook her. "Natalie."
That broke her out of her shock. She turned and looked at him.
"Do you believe me?"
"Yes. Yes, I do. I don't know how it could be happening, but it is. I need to sit down."
Chris led her to the couch and she sat down.
"You can see why it's important that I stay away from guys."
"Yes."
"It's odd, though. I've been near other women when I was P.L. and none of them changed like you did."
"What make me so special?"
"Maybe because I asked for your help?"
She stood up. "Are you saying that I'll keep changing like that whenever I get near a guy?"
"I don't know. Maybe it only happens when you're near me, when I'm P.L."
"I hope so." She sat back down. "Now what?"
"You take me somewhere safe. My car is still at work, so we'll have to take your car."
"Okay. Okay, I can do that."
"Come on, then," he said, gesturing her to come with him.
She hesitantly stood up from the couch, still not fully believing that this wasn't all a dream. Then they left the apartment.
