"P.L.? Are you in there?"
"Who is that?" Natalie asked.
Chris knew that voice. It belonged to the priest.
"It doesn't matter. Just don't open the door." But then Chris had an idea. "Come here."
"What? Why?"
"Just do it. I'll open the door."
Now she began to humor him. Mainly because she thought that he was delusional. Humoring him might be better than the alternative. He was already getting angry. He could get violent.
As Chris approached the door, he began to change, just like he expected. (If this wouldn't convince Natalie of the truth, then nothing would.)
And when the front door finally opened, it wasn't Chris who greeted the priest, but rather P.L., the one that had greeted the priest before, the same looks, dress, and everything.
"Hello, Father," she said sweetly.
