(Author's Note: Was enjoying the restart of this branch, but I wanted to see about taking in a different direction..maybe one I've been in before, but...what the heck?)
"Alright, everyone has put in 10 people, now who wants to choose first?" Linda asked.
"I'm still confused how this works..." Karyn said.
"Well...it has been a while since anyone new joined in," Linda commented. "I guess a recap of the rules wouldn't hurt." That would help Jon too. He was supposed to have done this before. "Well, it started when my Jon's grandfather sent us this magic bag. It is what makes the game possible." The bag did look rather old.
"What do you mean?" Karyn said.
"Well, haven't you wondered why no one in town questions the game? It's magic," Linda said.
"It's sort of like hypnosis," Zoe said. "People just don't question it. And then...when the game is over, they quickly sort of...forget it happened. I tried once to sort of hint to someone I wasn't who I was pretending to be, and they dismissed it. Even the people whose lives we take over...I think they sort of think of it as a dream afterward. I mean...you didn't notice that week I spent as your Mom, did you?"
"You were my Mom?" Karyn asked.
"Well, once you participate, you are sort of immune. Last month, Mikey was sick and couldn't play..." Zoe said.
Mikey giggled. "She was my doctor."
"How do you fake being a doctor?" Karyn asked.
"I don't know...I just...it felt like I knew the answers," Linda said.
"And what happens to the people you are acting like?"
