"I'll help you break in," I said.
"Good," Louis said. "The first thing we need to do is find our original bodies."
"Why?"
"Well, I want them with us when we reverse the Shift. That way, we'll still be in the NTE site."
I nodded, understanding what he meant. Although, I still didn't think it was a good idea to reverse the Shift, I commended him for thinking ahead.
"I know where my body is," Louis said. "How about you? I'm sure that during all your travels, you tried to search him out, right?"
He was right about that. About a year after I started my journey around the world, I found that a 21-year old college girl named Julie ended up in my body. I would have noticed right after the Shift (because I shifted into one of my own colleagues), but after the girl found herself in my body, she panicked and skipped town, probably to seek out her family to see if they had changed. It was a year after that when I found her ... uh, him. And he apparently kept my body in better shape than I ever had, as I noticed that my flabby gut was gone. Maybe it stemmed from the college girl's sense of beauty.
"I did search him out and I know where he is. But I'm not sure he'll want to come with us."
"Then we'll convince him. Now, come on. Let's go."
I hesitated for a second, trying to think if I was doing the right thing. But then I decided that I could go along with Louis until we got to the NTE site. No one was forcing me to go along with Louis' plan to reverse the Shift. Maybe I could even talk him out of it once we got there.
