Several shops and stores in town had changed. A Starbucks changed into an individually owned single shop called Coffee of Doom. An under utilized strip mall gained several stores. LeLaLa a store specializing in Leather, Lace, and Latex gothwear, Spike's an outright Goth Department Store (which is supported heavily by online sales), and The Gloomy Raven a new Goth-centric club all took over one strip mall that only had a couple of sad little stores previously. Several complete neighborhoods were now decorated completely in what would have previously been called Halloween Colors.
Akane and Karyn's moms were currently shopping at Spike's picking up new bed sheets, pillow cases, and assorted bric-a-brac for their daughters. Karyn's mom was wearing an Invader Zim hoodie, combat boots, and skirt while Akane's mom was dressed like a smart businesswoman; she was wondering how two of her kids ended up Goth and was having a hard time remembering why she was such good friends with Karyn's mother.
The Gloomy Raven was gearing up for the weekend. Friday and Saturday nights were their busiest time of the week. Advertising teams were putting up fliers promoting the new band they'd hired for the weekend while LeLaLa moved its club wear to more prominent positions in the store.
The most peculiar change, this one brought about by Akane's new wardrobe that changes sizes to accommodate her bust no matter what size it is, a new Tailor/Seamstress/Cobbler shop opened up in the heart of town that offers a variety of low key enchantments including size changing, stain resistance, wrinkle resistance, color changing, and more.
