"Okay, fine. You got me," Victor said. "We are going to the party. But as unexpected guests."
"You're gonna crash the party?" Jim asked.
"Yeah, and you can join us if you want," Stephen said.
"But ... you didn't crash the party. I remember," Jim said, recollecting the dance party he attended two weeks ago - this dance party. He didn't remember anyone crashing the party. Jim was sure that he would remember two Goth boys making a scene.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Victor asked.
"Nothing," Jim said, wondering why he even said that out loud. He didn't want to let on that he was a time traveler. He was already a Goth. He didn't want people to think he was even weirder than he already was.
"Come on, Victor. Let's do it," Stephen said.
"Come or stay," Victor told Jim. "Your choice."
"But it didn't happen," Jim muttered to himself.
"What was that?" Victor asked.
"Nothing." Jim wondered what he should do. If he went along with these two guys, he might attract too much attention to himself. Rick warned against that, saying that reality could change itself so that Jim would have always been how he was right now. And Jim had no intention of remaining as a Goth boy. But, on the other hand, how did he know that staying away from them would be any better? He could attract attention from anywhere, especially looking the way he did now. What should he do?
"Well? Are you coming?" Victor asked.
