Jim was left waiting for a number of minutes. Finally, she heard a flush, but she didn't recognize the woman coming out. Meanwhile, she hadn't seen any sign of Beth. After another minute or two, there was another flush, and this time she did recognize the girl coming out, but it wasn't Rebecca. It was Beth, and she was wearing the same baggy sweatsuit that Rebecca had been wearing. Surprisingly, she didn't look a whole lot different than Rebecca from the neck down. Was Rebecca really that pretty, and she'd never noticed?
"Well," Beth said, sitting down next to her, and giving her a peck on the cheek, "What do you think?"
Jim's jaw hit the floor with a resounding crash. "R... Re... Rebecca?!?"
"Yep. When you got to the dance, I had just snuck in the back, and changed in that classroom. I peeked out, and saw you hurrying in the door. I could barely stop laughing when you got close to that group of girls!"
"What?!? You knew who I was, all along, too?"
"You bet! How do you think I knew about your extra class?"
"Umm... yeah... about that..." Jim didn't really want to talk about that, so he tried to divert her, "Well, at least now I don't need to worry about you being a lesbian."
Rebecca laughed at that, and said, "No, but if you look that good, maybe I'll change my mind about that." More quietly, she continued, "Now that we've got that out in the open, why don't you change back. You might make a beautiful woman, but I like your normal body a lot better."
"Well," Jim responded quietly, "There's two problems with that. The first is that I don't have a change of clothes. The second is that I can't get rid of the spell."
"What do you mean?" As her voice was rising, Jim gestured for her to be quieter. In a softer voice, Rebecca continued, "Cancelling your own spell is one of the first things we learned."
Jim leaned in, and whispered into her ear, "I didn't cast it. Your brother did. That's what he was so excited about, this morning."
"He's a warlock? Damn... I wish we weren't forbidden to talk about these things. You better not tell anyone about me, including him. I won't be able to finish my training. Oh no! Wait, if he cast the spell... I'm really sorry I made such a scene with you at the dance. We better get back home. Tell him that Beth couldn't make it, and that you need to change back. And if he asks, you can tell him that I told you that Beth isn't a lesbian."
