"Hey do you care if I stash my bike back here?" Jon asked the man who appeared to be running the shed display that Jon had slept at the night before.
"Huh?" The man turned around to see Jon standing next to a small tree behind just behind one of the sheds. "What do you want to do?"
"I just wanted to make sure you were fine with me locking my bike up here." Jon reached into his pocket and pulled out his vendor pass. "I'm working a display down in the midway and I don't have anywhere to stash my bike. You care if I lock it up here?"
"Sure go for it." The guy said turning his attention back to the main sidewalk in front of his display.
Jon looped the bike chain through the frame of his bike and around the young tree. Clicking the lock shut, Jon shoved the key into his pocket and made his way back towards the man running the display. "I'll take that..." Jon thought as he snatched the key out of the lock of one of the sheds. "Thanks for letting me stash that there!" Jon said passing the man. "Make sure no one steals it!"
"Can do chief." The man said.
Jon was feeling pretty good as he headed back down the sidewalk towards the perimeter of the fairgrounds. "I've got wheels now... I've got a place to crash..." Jon stomach rumbled. "I need to get some food and supplies..." Jon decided to sit down on a nearby bench to plan out his next move. "I could grab supplies from the dollar store and gas stations." Lost in thought Jon leaned back on the bench. "Maybe I could load up at McDonalds in the morning... Or I could load up a backpack with water and food... But that's going to be such a long ride." Jon gave his thin thigh a squeeze. "This ride is going to wreck me."
"I WANT TO RIDE A COW!" A college aged girl yelled as her and her pack of friends walked down a nearby sidewalk. Jon's initial reaction was to look over at the pack of girls, but he quickly diverted his eyes.
"Chelsie you silly bitch! You can't ride a cow." One of the other college girls exclaimed.
"Please... Please don't give me anything from them." Jon thought as he clenched his eyes shut. "I only glanced at them... I didn't linger..." Jon wanted to punch himself for his mistake, but instead he just sat there with his eyes clenched shut as he listened to the college girls pass. After what seemed like 15 minutes of angst Jon finally opened his eyes and checked for any changes. "Wait..." Jon poked and prodded his body. "Nothing?" Jon began to hunt through his memories. "Those all seem right..." Jon couldn't pin point any specific change. "Did I just dodge a bullet?" Jon thought getting up from the bench. "I guess I did..." A feeling of relief washed over Jon's body as he look out at the fairgrounds debating his next move.
