"Mom?" came a voice from behind Carla. Turning around, she saw that it her son Derek. But that made sense, right? This was a dream, so ... "Mom, how did I get here? I was in my bedroom, playing a video game, and then ... I was here. In this mansion."
Carla thought that what he was saying was odd. After all, it was the same thing she remembered about herself. But again, this was all a dream, so it made sense that he would have the same general experience as her, right? Since he was just part of her own subconscious. But as the seconds passed, the less this felt like a dream. Which made her wonder if maybe she was going crazy instead. After all, she had no better explanation for what was happening to her, and maybe also to her son. Derek looked like he''d cleaned up a bit, looking a bit preppy...nicer clothes, a better haircut...and his hair looked...a lighter shade. "I don't know...I thought I was dreaming...but this is too real..."
"And what are you wearing?" He asked. "I mean..."
Carla looked down at herself. I'd better do some time on the bike, I don't want to let myself go. The thought trailed off. Bike? Where did that thought come from? "Derek, I think something is very wrong here," she declared.
Meanwhile, Dani sat down next to Biff. She also was confused, but was playing along or so she thought. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted someone in the adjoining room and wondered if she'd be able to fool them too.
