"No, I think I'll catch you later." I looked around, grinning. Suddenly I felt like -running-.
"Oka-" Chance's voice faded quickly as I began a wild sprint down the dirt road.
It was amazing. My deer hooves pounding the ground, the momentary shock which went through my legs each time they did, the tearing resistance of the wind and the rain and the -speed-. I was in heaven.
I got tired quickly (at least from my opinion), which was sort of a drag, but the exhiliration couldn't last forever. I'd probably come out of the game completely drained of adrenaline. It was a good thing, though; I was by now utterly lost. Heaving great breaths, I came to a slow halt.
The road had forked and teed several times along the way, and in my frenzy I hadn't bothered to remember how. As I trotted down the way I had come, I came to one of these. I stepped around in a circle, peering down each direction, trying to decide which way I had come.
Then I looked down. Deer tracks. Of course! Despite the realism of the settings, I still wasn't used to this level of detail. I frowned, though, as I looked up at the sky. The rain would no doubt wash the tracks away soon, so I had to go quickly.
I plodded down the trail as fast as I could manage. It was probably a bad idea to have run off, as I was now hungry(!!) and ready to curl up under a nearby oak.
