Karyn pulled Allison with her all the way to her house. Her mom and dad had already left for work by then, so they had the house to themselves.
All the way there, Allison was constantly crying. Karyn just about had enough. And she vowed to right the wrongs that Derek had created. Allison, who was brave enough to rescue her from the emos (after Karyn rescued her), was now a complete mess. There was no way Karyn would witness that bravery again. Allison had become a sissy, who would break down into a crying fit because of something so trivial as spilled milk.
When they arrived at the house, Allison sat on the couch in the living room and collapsed into another crying fit, seemingly for no reason.
"That's it," Karyn said, fed up with Allison's new attitude. She walked over to her and slapped her across the face. "Snap out of it."
But instead of stopping, the continued to cry, only harder.
Now Karyn wished she had never tried to help Allison. She should have left her at the school. She was just extra baggage and Karyn had more important things to do than to babysit.
Karyn walked into the kitchen to get herself a bottle of water. She needed to drink something. After a moment or two, Karyn couldn't hear Allison crying anymore. She wondered what was going on, to make her stop, so she walked back into the living room to see.
