She certainly was nothing like the Sarah he remembered. She wasn't greedy, selfish, or vain. He decided to share with her. "I found this on the way to school," he said, showing her the rock. "It grants wishes."
"But that's impossible," she said. "There's no such thing."
He held it. "I wish that Sarah's backpack was blue." And it suddenly was.
Sarah stared at it, and at him. "Why did you tell me?" She asked.
"I thought I could trust you," he said. She wasn't acting. His previous wish had made her this way.
"Can I hold it?" Sarah asked. He let her. "And make a wish?"
He thought about it. "Be careful though."
