Meanwhile, Angela had arrived at her destination. It was a building downtown that she had never been to before, but she entered this building and made her way to the fourth floor as if she had been there many times before.
"Excuse me, miss, can I help you with something?" a receptionist asked, seeing the unfamiliar conservatively-dressed woman briskly walking out of the elevator and in her direction.
Her hands were behind her back the whole way there, but when she got close enough to the receptionist, Angela immediately pulled them out from behind her back, revealing the gun in her right hand. Before the woman could even make a move, Angela shot her, causing her to flail out of her chair and onto the floor, showing that the receptionist had been holding a gun as well.
A security guard came around the corner and saw what happened, then tried to attack Angela, but the 42-year old high school councilor and mother of two teens was ready for him and easily took him out with some impressive martial arts that she now somehow knew how to perform. After all, all of this was new to her. The use of martial arts, the use of a gun ... none of that was learned by her. Instead, whoever had given her that note that had somehow forced her to come see them - they had brainwashed her, and had turned her into their own assassin. They even gave her a new name for her alter ego - Angelique.
She walked through the office space, either hitting or shooting anyone who got in her way, then kicked in the door to the corner office. An older man looked up from his desk, in shock. But there was also an expression of understanding, like he knew something like this might happen.
"Who are you?" he demanded to know.
Her blank expression changed, as she smirked. "My name is Angelique. And this is my awakening." She then aimed her gun and shot the man in the head, killing him instantly. She then looked down at herself and frowned. "What am I wearing?" Her outfit was just so conservative and prudish, and didn't allow for any extreme movements. No wonder it was harder to take out that guard than it should have been. The first thing she was going to do when she left there was get new clothing. Maybe a leather tactical suit.
