Jon lowered his hand. "You're forgetting one thing, Karyn. If we don't hear the wish, then we'll think everything is normal just like everyone else." He pushed himself off the wall and raised his hands in the air. "For all we know, this whole reality is different."
Just then, someone bumped into Jon. "Hey, watch where you're standing!" the person yelled out. Then suddenly, there was a bright flash of yellow light.
Jen felt dizzy, and reached out a hand against the wall to steady herself. She blinked. "Watch where I'm standing? You bumped into me." She looked at the boy who had bumped into her. "Jerk," she declared.
"It was your fault for being in the middle of the hall." the boy said, heading down the hall.
Jen looked at Karyn. Something seemed wrong, but he couldn't put his finger on it. "Middle of the hall, I was leaning against the wall," she complained.
"You got it right the first time when you called him a jerk." Karyn said.
