Mikey sat in class, waiting for his turn at show and tell. He held the rock in his hand, under his desk. He was trying to think of a fake story to tell about the rock, it was kinda interesting looking, but it was just a rock, after all. Maybe it had fallen from space, maybe a Mars rock, he thought.
It was Jessica's turn at show and tell, and she was in front of the class, showing off the new dress she was wearing that her aunt had made for her for her birthday. Nothing too fancy, a black and white striped shift dress, but Jessica seemed to really like it. Suddenly an odd thought hit Mikey. He had been thinking how his pants felt too tight lately, especially in the crotch area. He had not quite hit puberty yet, but things were starting to change. He got the odd notion that the dress that Jessica was modeling looked like it'd be a lot more comfortable then the tight blue jeans he had to wear. He of course knew the difference between girls and boys, and realized that society had clothing all wrong. Boys should be wearing dresses so they'd have more room down there. And girls always had to cross their legs when they wore skirts, but not when they wore pants, so shouldn't they only wear pants?
He absent mindedly whispered to himself, "I wish it was the boys who wore dresses and girls wore pants." There was an odd flash, which startled Mikey. He looked down at himself, he still held the rock in his hand, but now instead of his t-shirt and jeans, he was wearing the same shift dress that Jessica had on... Only now, Jessica, still in front of the class was now modeling the suit and tie that her aunt had made her. No wait, now she said it was her uncle that made it, and now she didn't seem so happy with it... Jon looked around the room, all the girls and boys had different clothes than before... Fred Orr, the class bully, still sat at his desk, now wearing a sundress with dandelions printed on it... Across the room sat Shirley Wither, the girliest girl in his class, wearing a sweatshirt and jeans... And sitting at her desk at the front of the room, was Ms. Grant, who usually wore a skirt, wearing a suit and tie.
Mikey panicked, but everyone else seemed perfectly natural with their new clothes. He raised his hand and asked for a bathroom pass, he had to take a walk and figure this out.
