Once he was gone, the young general turned to me. "As you can see, you are not liked by many in the government and military. Nijidam was all for letting you stay until a diplomat swept the rug from under him and he realized he would be able to use you for the army. This base is for the National Guard. That is my branch." I nodded but I was unimpressed. He smiled at me. "I bet he mentioned that Reuzam did not want you here. General Nijdam is a loyal dog of Reuzam himself. I personally think that we have an opportunity to pull away from their influence." That was interesting. "How do you figure that?" I asked him. He pointed at my jockstrap. More likely, what was under it. "The 6 MiG-29s we got were not given to us as eggs. It's basically the same as employing mercenaries. Or spies. On top of that, they were ordered not to breed here. If we had some eggs we could at least indoctrinate them into being loyal to us." I said "We're all male. We can't give you any eggs." He shrugged and said "Who said I wanted your eggs? That gray nanite data paste is what I want. Experimenting on it."

Chuckling, I said "If you give us some vats, we could certainly "donate" some sample for you. What are you even going to do with it? Try and impregnate human women with it?" He shrugged back at me. "Maybe if we find that a test tube is not conducive to insemination." I rolled my eyes. "That is fine with me. Bring the vats over and we'll give you what you want." He nodded and left to do that. I told them what they wanted. They were fine with it. "It's not like he's going to get anything from it." Boomie said confidently. Iwas not so sure. As a Player, I knew that there was more to do than just do what you were assigned at the beginning. When I next saw the young general, I said "We accept. We won't do any fighting for the nation of Liboleone. I want to thank your people for helping us escape what would have been certain death if we had to go back to Ixiti." The day after we were given the large vats and told that we were free to go wherever we wanted. Liboleone was a land-locked nation. I knew what we could do. We could have lots of fun. It would need some help from some humans though.

Giving them the filled vats was easy for us. I wondered if anything would come from it. looked at the map and saw there was a small rural town to the northeast. It was a mountainous region. I sure that it would be out of the way and that we could set something up there. It was a place called Aalholm. There were actually about 610 people living there. There was plenty of open space for us to walk around and take off without disrupting much of their daily lives. That was perfect for us. The people had to get used to us, but we were not going to actively bother them. While the others were idling away, I was on a search. I needed a specific kind of people to help me out here. I was looking for a good place to set up shop. Just because we could not join or fight for the military did not mean we could not fight for ourselves. That meant a forming a mercenary company. However, you needed money and licensing to be able to do that. We needed at least 2 humans on board that would be able to secure access to those licenses and actually had an address we could use as an actual base of operations.

That also meant that they needed to be fine with doing mercenary work. I was looking for young punks that had elder connections. Maybe they could just point me in the right direction. Worst case scenario, some down and out deadbeats that had nothing to lose but still looked clean enough to get all the paperwork approved would do. I found some guys at the edges of town in the middle of the day, luckily. This was a school day, so these truants with bad dyed hair and cigarettes in their mouths were the punks I was looking for. There were 4 guys and 2 girls in the group. The boys' names were Jert Faber, Ouren Hellinga, Leendert Dijkstra and Syble Bakker. Syble's twin sister Wiske and Mekke Meester were the girls of the group. Mekke was Jert's girlfriend. When I introduced myself to them, only Leendert and Jert were willing to come closer and let me hang out with them. The others in the group were either scared or angry. Eventually, I was able to convince them to meet the rest of the squad. They all had nothing better to do. The Dirty Pansies were pretty nice to them, all things considered.
