Athena had a new life to get used to, new friends, new outlook, even a new body. Sure she still looked like herself just a cuter, more compact, less gothic version of herself. Zoe kept reminding her that this was weird, but she didn't seem to care, it was like that question from that one movie: How am I not myself? She was who she was, the magic had made her a cheerleader, had made her cute, and had made her talkative. It was just a part of her now, so now she was exploring those new things.
Her room was a good example of this, before it was dark, a bit messy, and had many signs of a girl who read a lot of books, made her own cloths out of patchwork, and was into some new age magic stuff. The desk where she would read and work on potions or spells was gone now though, as was the sewing machine and the books, all of them replaced.
Her new room was yellow, had nice drapes which framed a window which let in the light. The desk was replaced by a vanity, the mirror of which was peppered with pictures of her at events she did not remember, but felt like she had done. The images didn't fill her with memories but they did fill her with the feelings that a good memory brings. Her room was still a bit messy, but now with clothing, and a little bit of school work. She never had to worry about school before, usually allowing herself to focus more on the occult, but now as a Cheerleader she had a GPA to maintain. None of her cloths had any personal touch to them, all of them store bought. At this she felt a little twinge, she liked having herself personalized, like having something no one else had. Still how would she look as good with something she had thrown together, her mind seemed to respond, the store bought stuff came with it's own style, it made life easier.
Athena looked at the mirror and stared at her new face. She made faces at it, playing with it, seeing what it could do. She felt silly, and having sat alone in her room, something she was used to before, she felt lonely, and bored. She wanted company, these were new feelings to her, and she did not like them. She picked up her phone and began to text.

Three blocks down the street, Zoe was getting used to the idea of a new Athena as well. She had made a choice to be friends with her, she had made the choice to allow magic to make them friends again, She still had the note. "The next person you talk to will slowly become your best friend." Slowly. Maybe that was the problem, this was going to take time. Getting her friend back wasn't going to happen overnight. This was a process that was going to take some patience and work, Zoe wasn't good at those things, but it wasn't like she had much choice.
Already it had changed her, she had said yes to doing something with Cheerleaders, a group she never had liked, and had hated just for the fun of it. The whole experiance made her question everything about herself. Had that one girl meant what she said? Could she become one of them? was that even something that could happen? Would she let it? Did she really have a nice butt? and if so why hadn't she noticed that before? Zoe spent too long in the bathroom looking at herself and wondering, which caused Mikey to yell in there.
"Zoe, stop primping like some sort of Cheerleader and let me pee!"
Zoe quickly opened the door.
"what did you just call me you little jerk?"
Mikey quickly dodged into the bathroom.
"Whatever works." He chortled at Zoe as he slammed the door.
Zoe was fumming. She wasn't, nor would she ever be a cheerleader, and furthermore she was going to find a way to break Athena out of her little phase, and bring back the "real" Athena. She just needed a plan.
