Reality seemed to melt around me, and Suzies blip seemed to dissapear, but as I 'reset' I was shocked to discover that I had leveled up. Alot. I'd gone from a Level One warrior, to a Level Ten.
I knew I had leveled up, I just didn't know HOW I knew I'd levelled up. or for that matter, WHY I had gained levels. After all, it wasn't like I'd beaten the Devil. I'd just tripped him.
The two sages bound the Devil's hands and one of them, the woman that the Devil had called a Bitch, turned to face me. "Thanks for the help." she said. "No problem." I replied. "But why did the world melt like that?" I asked her.
"The Devil was trying to hack an escape for himself. Now that we have him though, that won't be happening. Now if you'll excuse us, we need to bring him in for questioning before he's deleted." The woman said.
As the two Sages carried the Devil away, the woman called over her shoulder "Enjoy the level boost! Just my way of saying thanks."
"So that was it." I thought. The levels were a reward. Remembering that Zuzy was waiting for me, I hurried onwards to meet her.
