Feeling a tingle in my hands, I looked down. The crystal was glowing slighter brighter. The elder said a spell and then I saw an update to the menu. Opening it up, I saw that my class changed. I was now an Arcane Archer. The class needed me to decide what type of arrow I could use 2 types of Arcane shots first. There were a total of 8 options: Banishing Arrow, Beguiling Arrow, Bursting Arrow, Enfeebling Arrow, Grasping Arrow, Piercing Arrow, Seeking Arrow and Shadow Arrow. Out of the 8, you could choose 6 as you continued in the class. The class also had other perks. At a certain point, you could infuse all arrows with magic to overcome resistance to mundane weapons. I could eventually learn to curve arrows to change targets on a miss. I thought that it was pretty cool. The initial shots I wanted were the Bursting and Shadow Arrows. The Bursting Arrow allowed me to imbue my arrows with force energy. The energy detonates after the attack. Immediately after the arrow hits, the target and all other creatures within 10 feet of it take damage. That damage would scale with my level.
I thought that was pretty cool. The other shot that I wanted to start off with was the Shadow Arrow. I could weave illusion magic into my arrow, causing it to occlude your foe's vision with shadows. The creature hit by the arrow takes an extra psychic damage, and it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be unable to see anything farther than 5 feet away for 10 seconds. Like with the others shot, it scaled up with my level. That was a totally powerful prospect. It was certainly an interesting debuff to inflict. That was why I wanted to get this class. Now that I had this, I was less interested in the clan wars. I would obviously defend my clan from raids and against raids from other clans, but I could see that I would want to move on at some point. The world was too big to stay in one area for the whole game. At a certain point in time, it would be like a giant bomb going off in a medium sized area. It would also be that I could graze an NPC with an arrow and inflict near permanent blindness. Each Arcane shot could only be used on 1 arrow at a time. They had an hour cooldown. It was okay.
