Even despite the warm feeling in his abdomen Jon felt a cold shiver run down his spine, followed by a sinking feeling in his stomach. Surely, the stone didn't consider his "true gender" to be female, did it?

"Ka-karyn, you don't really think the stone interpreted the wish in that way, do you?" he stuttered slightly.

"I mean, why not?" she replied. "As far as everyone is concerned you are a girl until recently known as Katie! That is everyone apart from you and I!"

Jon didn't like the matter-of-factly way Karyn just said that. It might have been easy for her as an observer, but he definitely didn't feel right knowing he was a girl. Especially if the prospect of being pregnant was on the table.

He looked down at and touched his stomach, flattening his t-shirt down. Was it rounder? Or was it just the way his female body was softer than the one he was used to? Was it his mind playing tricks on him?

"Karyn! Tell me what you said is NOT happening!" he looked at her pleadingly.

"Just give me the stone Jon..." she tugged the stone from his hand. "I wish to know if Jon is pregnant or not!"

Her eyes closed briefly and when they opened Jon already saw the answer out there on her face.

"Please Karyn, tell me..."

"Yes, Jon. You are carrying a child now and you are approaching the end of your seventh month." she said solemnly.

"What? What do you mean seven month? You're joking, right? Of course this is a joke!" The ridiculousness of what Karyn said convinced Jon she was lying. It was all a big joke. He couldn't be seven months pregnant! The slight roundness of his belly, which he was definitely only imagining by the way, was nowhere near being big enough for any imaginary pregnancy to be considered advanced enough.

"No Jon, I'm afraid I'm not joking. The stone just gave me the knowledge of the state of your pregnancy in the current reality. Your body simply hasn't quite caught up yet because you've put time condition on your wish."

"Fuck!" this was too much for Jon. He hid his face in his hands and stated pacing frantically. "Fuck, fuck FUCK FUCK! I can't be pregnant and I WON'T be pregnant! And especially not in two hours!"

"I'm sorry Jon! I'm sure it will be..."

"No Karyn! It won't be fine!" he didn't mean to yell at her that much, but he was feeling simply too emotional to fully control himself.

"Ok then Miss-responsible-wisher, I wish you weren't pregnant with a child!"

"Ouch!" Jon bent in half as he felt a short but intense cramp in his abdomen. "Did... did it work?"

He looked back at Karyn in anticipation, but instead of her usual smugness he saw... pity in her face.

"I'm so sorry Jon..." she said.

"What do you mean you're sorry?"

"My previous wish still gives me access to knowledge about your pregnancy in this reality. My last wish didn't get rid of your pregnancy. But you're not pregnant with a child anymore. You are pregnant with children."

"Wha?.."

"You are carrying twins Jon."
