Emily (formerly Jon) and Karyn paused for a moment, considering the question. Did they? It might be hard to deal with the other kids' opinions of them, and the adults' expectations of Great Things from them. On the other hand, it had to be better than repeating nine years of school...
"Well," Emily said. "We'd like to be in middle school, you know still prodigies, but high school might be too much right now."
Kirsten (formerly Ken) nodded. "All right, that makes a lot of sense" she said. "I wish that Jon and Karyn, despite their physical age, were in 6th grade."
There was no visible change, of course, but everybody paused a moment, as if waiting for something to happen. "Okay," Kirsten said, "any last requests before we wrap this up?"
