"Hmm," Jon mused, looking unintentionally adorable as she stroked her chin. "I'm not really sure what I want to do in regards to school. On the one hand, I could breeze through everything up through junior high, but on the other, I don't really care for the idea of spending nine years redoing stuff I already learned. Still, it'd be even harder to fit back in as a child prodigy. I dunno, Karyn, what do you think?"
"Not sure," Karyn replied. "Whatever you do, I'm going with you. Personally, I'd lean towards the prodigy option, but I see your points on the retread option."
Jon nodded. "Let's think on that one for a bit."
"All right, then," Ken said. "Mikey, any idea what you want your backstory to be?"
The snake-girl nodded. "If it's all right with you," she said, "I'd like to stay as your biological daughter. I dunno, maybe we could paint it as something medical science just couldn't explain?"
"That's fine by me," Ken said. "Oh, Karyn. If you're going to be a little girl, too, are you going to want your parents to remember the old you?"
Karyn thought for a bit. "No," she said. "The fewer people have to be dragged into this whole mess with the stone, the better."
"Okay, then." Ken turned to her wife. "Tina, honey, have you figured out what you want to do yet?"
Tina nodded. "Of course. I've always been a woman, and I'm not going to let any turn of events change that, no matter how weird. But are you sure you want to have actually given birth to the kids? I'm sure there are other ways to work that."
Ken nodded. "I'm sure. Like I said, I want our kids to actually be ours. And besides, you were none the worse for wear, after the recovery."
Tina smiled. "You old flatterer. Well, don't come crying to me if you suddenly remember what it felt like. Zoe, any changes or stipulations you want to make?"
Zoe shrugged. "Not really," he said. "As long as Athena knows the truth, that's about the only thing I can think of."
"Okay, then," Ken said. "Jon, have you decided yet?"
Jon nodded. "Karyn and I are going back to high school," she said. Neither one of us really wants to do nine years of school over again."
Karyn chuckled. "We'll be the twin Chiyo-chans of the school!" she said. Jon looked at her quizzically. "From Azumanga Daioh," she said. "She's a ten-year-old high-school student."
"Oh, heh," Jon said. "Yeah, I suppose so."
"All right," Ken said. "Last order of business: do those of us who have changed genders want new names?"
The four (fully) sex-switched family members were silent for a while. Jon was the first to speak. "Emily," she said. "That'll work."
"I guess we could call me Rachel," Mikey said glumly. "I like it better than Michelle, at any rate."
Zoe shrugged. "Forgive me for being horribly lazy," he said, "but...I think I'm going to go with Zach."
"And I think Kirsten will work for me," Ken said. "All right, that's everything. Does anybody have any last requests or suggestions before I start wishing?"
