Ken sighed. One down, four to go, and then they could work out how to fix things up for their own family. She wasn't sure what she thought about the prospect of spending the rest of her life as a woman, but the important thing, to her, was making sure their kids could get through this all right. But that was a topic for later, after they'd taken care of the other victims. "I wish," she said, "that the next of the other victims would be teleported here."
Again, the effect was instantaneous, and there was a creature huddled up on the living-room floor. It was clearly humanoid in shape, and had long blonde human-like hair, but there was a long, stiff tail on the back, scaly, mottled red-and-orange skin, and dangerous-looking claws. There was a collective gasp from the family, and the creature looked up at them, revealing a mostly human but somewhat reptilian face. They could now clearly see that it - she - was some kind of dinosaur-girl, with a shapely and clearly mammalian figure. Whoever she was, she would confuse the hell out of any taxonomists she met.
The girl stared at them. "Wh-who are you?" she asked, her voice trembling. "Where am I?" Then her eyes fixed on Tina. "Mrs. Madison?" she said. "What's going on here? Are these...?"
Tina nodded. "Yes. We were all affected by those post-its. This is my husband, Mikey, Zoe, and Jon," she said, indicating the respective family members.
Karyn groaned. "Oh, the stone was behind this, wasn't it? Jon, how could you-"
"She didn't," Mikey interrupted, raising herself up to a standing height. "I did. I...I messed up a bunch of people's lives without thinking about it. I'm sorry."
Karyn sighed. "I guess there's no point in getting mad about it. But what can we do to fix it?"
"Not sure," Ken replied. "It seems that the effects of the notes can't be reversed, so it depends on the exact nature of your change."
Karyn swore. "Well," she said, "I guess I'm stuck as an anthropomorphic Velociraptor, then. Are you stuck as a little girl, then, Jon?"
Jon shrugged. "I'll grow up, I presume, but otherwise, yes."
"I'm sorry to hear that," she said. "I don't...I don't want to have to grow up and move away before you do." She began to choke up, a couple tears trickling down her scaly cheeks. You're...you're my very best friend, Jon, and I don't want you to just be the little neighbor-girl."
"Well," Ken offered, "we could make you Jon's age, I suppose."
Karyn brightened a bit. "Yeah," she said. "I could use a few extra years to get used to this body, anyway."
Jon smiled. As much as she didn't like the idea of the new life she was facing, if she had Karyn with her it wouldn't be so bad. "Do you want your parents to remember the old you?" she asked.
"No," Karyn said. "The fewer people have their lives complicated by this, the better."
Ken smiled. "I wish," she said, "that Karyn would become eight years old, and that in her new form she would be accepted by her parents and society in general."
They all watched as Karyn shrank down to slightly taller than Jon, her curves straightening and her breasts shrinking away into a flat chest. Given that they were the result of a wish, Karyn expected that they'd grow back to that size come puberty, but at least she'd get a chance to get used to them gradually.
The little Velociraptor-girl rushed over to Jon and embraced her. "I'm so glad we can stay together," she smiled. "And hey, school should be a breeze for the next eight years or so."
