Karyn used a pair of healthy legs to lung at Zoe. "Gimme that stone!"
"No!" protested Zoe. "You're supposed to be like Jon, and ... you ... are ..." Her eyes were wide open with shock. She dropped the stone.
Karyn picked it up. "I wish I knew how I became like Jon." The answer popped into her head. "You made me Jon's sister. Your sister. I'm like him - and you now. You took my family away from me. The least I can do is take something away from you."
"No," pleaded Zoe. "Don't -"
"I won't," said Karyn. "Not yet, little sister. First, I'll have to fix what you've done. I wish Jon's wheelchair were a cybernetic implant inside his legs enabling him to walk about. I wish Jon could put on a pair of fully functional hands looking like the hands he used to have."
Jon stood up to put on his new appendages. It was nice to see Karyn eye to eye again. He didn't know what to say. "Thanks" wouldn't be strong enough. Then he glanced at Zoe and the words came so easily to him. "Get her."
"I will." Karyn's eyes blazed with rage. "I wish Zoe ..."
