Max looked down at the pouting birthday boy. "Hey, 'big guy.' It's your birthday, why don't you come up and give me a hand with this next illusion."
At first he refused, but eventually he finally stepped onto the stage, as he wanted to be the center of attention.
"Let's hear it for Frank!" exclaimed Max. There was little applause. It was evident that a lot of the kids didn't like him since he acted like a spoiled jerk.
"So Frankie " began Max.
"My name's not Frankie! It's Frank! Are you stupid or something?" blurted Frank. That comment earned him a stern glare from Max.
He buried his desire to strangle him then asked "Well FRANK, did you ever want to be older like your mom?"
Frank replied " Hell, yeah! Then I can do all the things mommy does! Drive! Boss people around! Eat what I want! Stay up as late as I want to! That'll be awesome!"
Max turned to Pamela, Frank's mother. "Mrs. Carter, have you ever wished to be younger?"
"Well, I wouldn't mind being a few years younger" she admitted sheepishly.
Max smiled and addressed the audience "“"Well I aim to please!"
He grabbed his wand that still held the wish stone and waved a few gestures then a large explosion engulfed the stage and standing on both sides of Max were Mrs. Carter and her son, Frank both confused as they both swapped heads with each other!
"There you go! Frank, you're older like your mom, and Mrs. Carter, you're a bit younger!"
Max takes a bow and the audience howled in delight at the ridiculous sight.
Mrs. Carter sputtered, "Change us back this instant or I won't pay you!"
Max gave a sinister smirk "Oh we're beyond that already. Pammy, honey your threats are empty and shallow like you. You don't scare me and you deserve to be a kid again because you need to grow up. Frankie, you're a spoiled brat and you can't have everything you want by bullying everyone. You deserve to be humiliated."
Jon, Wendy, Karen, and Tanya ran onto stage with a huge folded black tarp. Max grabbed a corner and it unfurled over the hapless headswapped family members. He quickly pulled it back to reveal Pamela's head still on her son's body shirtless and dressed in his yellow swim shorts. Conversely Frank's head was on his mother's shapely body in a one-piece gold and black swimsuit. Both sat in 2 dunking booths, which were side by side.
"All right" announced Max, as he materialized a baseball from his sleeve. "Hit the target and dunk a Carter!"
All the children sitting in the audience eagerly ran up to the stage and waited in line for their turn to soak either Mrs. Carter or Frank who protested them to stop. Each time they landed in the water, after 5 seconds of them floundering around, the collapsible wooden plank would reset and scoop them up and ready them for the next round.
Even Jeeves the butler stood in line and waited impatiently for his chance to dunk his employers.
Karen turned to Max who walked toward their bus, "So, we're not getting paid?"
Max held up a finger "Karen there are some things that are more important than money " and continued walking.
Jon looked at Karen and shrugged.
