The next day was the Talent show.
On a large stage outside on the school grounds were most of the student body and random people from the neighborhood. Spectators also flanked the bleachers and there were numerous other events going on as well including carnival games, food booths, and some rides. Three judges sat in front of the stage behind a foldout table sitting throughout all of the performances.
There were numerous acts including singers of all types, dance routines from solo performances to full drill teams, instrumental performances of all variations, a ventriloquist, a juggler, a dog act, a yoyo act, and finally it was nearing Max and crew's turn.
Max dressed in a black tuxedo with a red sash, a large cape, and top hat. He talked to Jon who was dressed in his normal long sleeved shirt, jeans, and sneakers.
"What do you mean you're not coming on stage with me? Who's going to help me with the tricks like we rehearsed?!" asked Max in a panic.
"Relax, Max. I'm starting to realize that I think I'll get stage fright," Jon lied. "I think I'll hurt the performance rather benefit it by being onstage with you. Besides, I can sit in the audience and monitor everything from there. Also if you need a volunteer, Karen and I will be able to help you." He flashed the stone to Max for reassurance.
