"That kid your daughter is dating is a real looker, isn't he?" Aisha Myers turned and spoke to Karyn during a quiet moment.
Aisha had once again been changed. She had once been a fairly popular girl and sometimes friend of the original Sarah McMillan. The day before she had been swapped into the life of an overweight black girl. Now she had taken Gladys's role in the kitchen. Once again a white woman the flabby belly she'd had the day before was now a sagging gut. Her head sized breasts were even bigger, though without her sturdy underwire bra her girls were resting lower than she'd like these days. Still, Aisha was a confident woman raising her children the best she could while still going out occasionally. In her mind she'd seized on Karyn finally agreeing to get out of the house this weekend.
"He's not just looks Aisha. That boy has a head on his shoulders too, and he surprises me with how mature he can be." Karyn chuckled as she checked the temperature of some chicken to make sure it hadn't been left out too long.
"I saw him staring at you yesterday. You sure he isn't more enamored with his girlfriend's mom than he is with the girlfriend?" Aisha teased as she headed to the sink to start washing dishes.
"Don't push your luck." Karyn gave a stern glare to Aisha before returning to her tasks. " He is a young man, and I won't say I hate the attention, but I have no doubts he is fully committed to Tiffany. If he is looking me over I'm sure it's just him thinking how Tiffany might age. One day she may have my thunder thighs and love handles."
Karyn remembered Jon watching her butt, and catching him pop a boner in his room. It had made her feel sexy that a boy her daughter's age admired her body that way, but she was sure it was just the circumstances. Despite the main topics of conversation Jon had brought up in his room he was still a red blooded man.
"Fine, fine." Aisha said defensively. "But it should give you a boost for this weekend. You're still a beautiful woman, and with a new dress and the right makeup we'll have to beat men off us with a stick."
"And when did a new dress come into the picture?" Karyn raised an eyebrow.
"It will tonight. When was the last time you wore something nice out for yourself, and not an event for one of your kids?" Aisha let Karyn's silence speak for itself. " Right, so we'll go shopping tonight and get a nice new number for each of us. We can head out after work if you want."
"I'll have to meet up with you later. I promised to help Jon with something after school." Karyn explained. Aisha paused her scrubbing, turning with a look like the cat that caught the canary.
"Helping him out with something? And what could that be?" Aisha's tone told Karyn she'd have a lot of explaining to do.
Back in the lunch room Jon was turning his attention to the voice that had called his name. He saw a group of girls, but he couldn't recognize any of them. He internally sighed, ready to once more fish for information about who these girls were. As he began walking toward them he was glad to not be sitting alone, but hoped things wouldn't be too awkward.
