The day before, Keun-hye Lee had been attending her daughter Ji-woo's soccer game. Ji-woo and her sister, Ah-ln had been well behaved...not that their replacements, Yeong-Ja and Seo-Jun weren't, but much rambunctious and prone to bickering. Now, as Connie, she'd initially been worried that Jill would get the part due looking like a stereotypical Annie. But when they both lost to some Asian girl, they'd bonded over the disappointment and had struck up a conversation and found out they had some things in common.

Ah-ln had been sitting on the bench, cheering her sister, and being supportive, when her braces vanished, her teeth straightening inside her mouth. Her legs started to grow, not only in length, but growing quite shapely as she turned from a student who had just entered Chesapeake Middle School this year into a high school student. Ann Harris was an honor student who as working on her college essays alone in the library...which was a far cry from what Betty Harris had been up to before the change.

The next day, Ann noticed something suspicious. She spotted two young Freshmen having a heated conversation with those two troublemakers, Barb and Allison. Ann wasn't a snoop, but she was on the Student Council, and kept her eyes out. The two Freshmen walked away, looking upset. leaving the two upperclassmen in a public display of affection. She wondered if she should tell Principal Morse that the two had resorted to bullying freshmen now.

At lunch, Jon was hoping to finally able to relax for a few minutes during his lunch period and maybe hang out with his friends at least the ones who had the same lunch period as she did...if he knew who they were today.

He waited in line. Karyn wasn't serving today, another woman was...must be new...at least to him. There was something that seemed familiar about her, but he was so confused, he couldn't tell if it was his imagination or not. He thought he could see Karyn working in the back. He studied her for a few moments before moving on. After he got his food, he paused, looking around the room, trying to figure out where to sit. He didn't see Nadine or Tiffany...he wasn't even sure they shared a lunch period with him, and if they did, if they'd arrived yet.

He spotted his former mother, Julie...who was back in high school. She'd gone from Hispanic, to Caucasian...now she was black....Nadine had said something about Julie Washington. That must be her. On the other side of the room, Linda was with a bunch of other popular girls. This was the same cheerleading squad as yesterday, as none of them had been in school, but he hadn't gotten a chance to identify them all either.

Everywhere he turned were strangers, or people who were now strangers to him. It was like he was a new kid in school.

"Jon!" Someone called. He turned his head in that direction to see who it was
