It seemed Jon spoke too soon when he thought that everything was fine, because his parents were arguing about him now.
"Why can't Jon be more like his sister?" his dad asked his mom.
"Not everyone can be as perfect as Zoe, Jim."
"But still. Jon only gets B's in school, he doesn't do any extracurricular activities, and he barely has any friends. Just that Karyn girl and those two goofs."
Goofs? Tim and Pete aren't goofs. They're really good friends, Jon thought.
His dad never had a problem with him before. But now, after Jon made his wish, it seemed that he was no longer his parents' favorite. Zoe was. And Jon was being compared to her instead of the other way around.
He wanted to make his sister better, but he had no idea it would change how he was viewed in his own family. Suddenly, he had become the one that wasn't good enough.
