"My parents are so fucking weird," Zoe complained to her best friend Athena.
"Yeah, whatever, you always say that."
"No, really, I think they've gone off the deep end," and she believed it too. Sometimes she thought they only did weird shit just to mess with her, but this was way over the line.
"This morning," she began, making sure that nobody was within earshot, "I go to use the washroom and my mom is in there wearing one of my dad's suits and shaving her face. HER FUCKING FACE!"
"Maybe she has a gland problem," Athena replied with a snicker. She shifted her skirt and leaned back against the concrete steps behind the school they so often hung out at.
Ignoring her friend's humour, Zoe continued. "So then I go downstairs and I see my dad, my fucking dad, wearing one of my mom's dresses, make-up on his face, making bacon and eggs. I say, 'Dad? What the hell is going on?' and he looks at me and says, as if it were nothing at all, 'It's mom, dearie. Today I'm mom.' What the fuck?! I try to play along, he tells me that he wishes I'd go upstairs and dress more like a lady, and my mom comes down and sticks up for me, just like my dad does!"
"That's fucked up," the other girl said.
"Yeah, they are totally fucked. I hope it's not genetic."
