Just by doing that, they could simply skip the next trip. As the peaches did this, some of the others came by. "Who the hell are these guys!? They're tearing up rocks like its nothing." a recruit said. "I found them and they decided to follow me." he said. Jimmy was his name and we talked as we continued to strike at the walls at a normal pace. He was on the team with Quinn, Chris, Bitey and Maria. He was the son of one of the minor members of the guild. He seemed to be a pretty nice guy and he had a big dream of making a masterwork great axe for a hero to use. I would probably be making cool weapons for others to use as well. I got up to twice the needed amount of coal and decided to leave the mines. I was able to put some of the skill points into mining and smithing. I also put some in my Strength Vitality and Speed stats. The other apprentices were still hard at work. Quinn, Chris, Bitey and Maria were all pissed off that they had to stay behind with Jimmy and Henry. Henry got into a shouting match with them. Pretty counterproductive in David's mind. He just his party out the mine.

Keeping half of their stores of coal, the receptionist at the main building smiled at us. She looked at it with a magnifying glass and then squeezed it in a gloved hand. The dust was on the glove. "Good job. You all got the highest quality coal. This will all be used to keep the forges. This will be good for your careers. I look forward to working with you Joe Shcmo, Alec Peachy, Alex Peachy, Wendy Peachy, Claire Peachy and Sasha Peachy." David gave them all the sir name. That way he could pass them off a members of the same clan. The quest was done. The group each got some money to use for the delivery. The receptionist was a quest giver for side missions that would help the guild. We needed to find a smith that could teach us. As apprentices, we could either go to one and ask them or one can come to us and offer a spot. Usually, you needed a certain amount of errands for the guild before someone would go out of their way to offer a spot. I looked at the receptionist and asked what tasks needed to be done. There were many deliveries throughout the city. Even village smiths needed coal.

Liking this type of job was not what David was thinking. His menu said that he needed to do five tasks if he wanted to move up in the order. It was the quest titled "Paying your dues". With that being the case, he took his party to go around the city. He was to give the low-quality coal to the forges on the lower rungs of the city. These smiths catered to the lower-class residents and dealt in horseshoes and nails. 3 of these tasks were just in the city. By the time we were ready to go down to Hilx Village for another delivery. Quinn, Chris, Bitey, Henry, Jimmy and Maria were now returning. Since they were normal NPCs, the regular apprentices needed to sleep and got their stamina depleted on a very regular basis. It took them a couple of days after we left to get back. They did not want to travel the dangerous roads at night. We were able to go around and deliver the coal and then get back to the receptionist for more jobs. Hilx Village was a full 2 days out from the city of Babi. David would be able to power through and travel at night, but even he would need to rest at some point. He was stronger.

As they passed each other, Bitey begged to come with. "Please take me with you, Joe! I want to be with you." he said. "Sorry about that. You guys took too long. Now, you have to take your coal to the receptionist at the guild hall. Keep all the coal not needed for your quota for later. Then you have to do some errands around town while we're gone. This is our 4th job." The others looked equally sad. "It's not our fault that we took so long." Maria said as she looked at us. "Yeah! It was all of these dead weight slowpokes. We couldn't leave because they'd get killed on the roads." Chris chimed in petulantly. That got Henry and the others to yell at them. When they all got fully consumed in the argument, it was time for David to go. They went down the road, killing all the monsters and bandits in their way. Once they got to the village, they made their way straight to the forge. The blacksmith was not in at the moment. It was still the middle of the night. That meant that they had to wait for the smith to appear there. It took a couple hours. In that time, the peaches cuddled up to David. He sighed.
