"What do you mean?" Karyn asked.
Mrs. Plunk looked at Karyn. "Well, normally you are one of my best students, Karyn. Today, however, you've hardly said a word."
Karyn nodded. "Yeah, I've been a little distracted lately."
"Is it about a boy?" The teacher asked.
Karyn was surprised. How did everyone seem to know about Jon? She nodded.
"I thought so." Mrs. Plunk said sitting straight. "I can tell. Girls are always distracted when they are in love." She said. "So who is it? If I may ask?"
"Jon Gibson." Karyn replied.
Mrs. Plunk nodded. "I see. Well, I'm happy for you two." She said standing up. "Just don't let your budding romance distract you too much from your studies."
Karyn shook her head. "Don't worry Mrs. Plunk." She said. "I won't"
"Good." Mrs. Plunk replied. "Now run along and Karyn? I want to see a better performance from you tomorrow."
Karyn nodded. "Of course Mrs. Plunk. Thank you." Karyn exited the classroom and headed towards her final class of the day.
