After class, Linda followed him, as if it was a spy movie, down the hall, then pulled him into an empty classroom. "I need your help," she said. "My mom is upset about my math grade. I mean...It's a B+....but anything short of an A..."
Jon paused. he remembered Sarah not paying much attention to school, only doing enough to skate by. Clearly she wasn't lacking in intelligence, especially now that she was a bookworm who played the violin...someone her former self would have taunted. Was this why Linda was friendly to him? Was he her tutor also? "How are we going to do that?"
"I'll text you..."
"My phone got stolen...I'm trying to get it back," he said.
"Oh...sorry," she said. "How's that girlfriend of yours?"
"Tiffany is fine..."
"Did you have sex yet?" Jon looked at her, turning a bit red. "I'll take it that's a no. Honestly, Jon...if your mother found out, she'd kill you. Is that why you're doing it? My mother would be happy if I married some future Silicon Valley billionaire..."
"Instead of Biff?"
"I know he doesn't like you very much, but Biff can be sweet in his own way. Besides, Mom hates him...she expects me to do well in school, be the head cheerleader...Biff is just...being with him is simple."
Jon looked at her. "Where are you going to be at a quarter to 4 today?" He asked.
