She heard a door swing open and she spun around suddenly. A man walked into the room.
"Still awake?" the man asked her.
"Yes," she said. He looked very familiar...but she just couldn't place him.
"Are you worried about the reunion?" He asked.
"Reunion?" She said, without thinking.
"It's been twenty years since you saw some of these people. Why do you even care what they think? I mean, you bought a new dress, you lost all that weight to fit into it..."
Sarah stood there, wishing she could understand what was going on. A part of her was immensely curious, despite it all. If this was her future...why shouldn't she see what it held?
"I'm fine," she insisted to the stranger. "I just need some time alone," she looked at him with her most convincing expression.
"Well, all right then," he said. "I'll be downstairs for a while if you need me." He left her. Sarah still couldn't place him. He looked so familiar.
She began poking around the room, trying to find clues. Everything looked so...normal. Where were all the futuristic things? She found a cell phone sitting on the nightstand and pulled up its calendar and frowned deeply. The date was exactly the same date it was before.
How could she be in the future when it was the same year? Who was the familiar looking man downstairs? Why was she suddenly an old, if sexy, woman?
