"I'm okay, really. I ... I just need to go outside for a minute," Sarah said.
"Why?" her mother asked.
Sarah couldn't think of a good reason. She couldn't possibly tell the truth, that she needed to meet up with Zoe (a Goth girl, who she was in love with) to tell her to not come to the house because her mother was home. She certainly couldn't tell her that.
"Sarah, you're acting strange."
"Gotta go," Sarah suddenly said, not wanting to discuss this further. Then she left and ran down the street to Zoe.
