"What are you talking about?" replied Sharon. "In bed together? We haven't used the same bed since we were little, and why are you thinking about that anyway?"
"Sharon, Karyn," said Jon, "we all know what 'in bed' means." He leered.
"Jon!" exclaimed Sharon. "You're acting like a total creep. I don't know what's going on here, but you're sounding an awful lot like a stalker. Twincest is fine in writing fan fiction, but this isn't some twelve year old's Harry Potter story. We're real people."
"Well, er, of course," said Jon. He began to walk over to the dresser. The magic stone was how he created this whole situation, and he was going to use it to fix it.
Sharon walked over too. She held out a hand, blocking Jon. "I'm beginning to guess. Karyn, what do you think we should do?"
"Hmm?" replied Karyn. "I don't know."
"He wished something for us," said Sharon. "Something nasty. I'm going to find out what it was."
Jon grabbed for the stone and Sharon gave him a karate chop. He staggered back, muttering something about different tastes and interests. Sharon picked up the stone and said "I wish we knew if Jon made a wish, what it was, and why it didn't work."
They all blinked. Then Sharon said "Wow."
"There's your answer," said Jon. "I can't see how you're happy with it. You know, this was all harmless. I was going to undo it at the end."
"Wait a minute," said Karyn. "Let's put it in simple terms. You were going to rape us and kill my sister. You only failed because you forgot that the wishes have to be made in a single breath.
"It's not rape," said Jon. "And it's not murder."
"What do you call it when you force someone to have sex with someone who they wouldn't?" said Sharon.
"First of all, you were supposed to come into existence already wanting to commit incest. I wouldn't be changing a Sharon who doesn't like it into a Sharon who does."
"I don't know about that," said Sharon, "if I really didn't exist before the wish, it would be like being my mother and raising me to like incest. That's still wrong. Besides, you did try to change Karyn's mind."
"Sharon," said Jon, "people's tastes exist because of their background. If you wished you were richer, and it changed history so that your mom married some rich person, would it be rape because they were only having sex because of your wish? If it changed history so you made an extra visit to the bank, and two people on line never met, and never had kids, did you just kill their kids? Changing history isn't rape or murder. It's changing history."
"You know," said Karyn. "I can't completely disagree with you. It's not the same thing. Otherwise when I made everyone think we were blondes, that's mind control, making it assault and battery."
"I agree," said Sharon. "I don't think it's the same as a normal crime. And I can't complain about existing, if you're responsible for that. But it's not right, either."
"I smell a wish," said Karyn.
"Right. First of all, I wish nobody can wish me out of existence. Second, I wonder what punishment will fit this, Jon. You're still our friend and I don't want to ruin that. I'm not going to put you in jail or torture you; I just want you to think before the next time you try something like this. Let me think. I wish that for the next week, Jon...."
