"Okay, Dad, tell him I'll be down in a minute." Jon looked through his closet for something to wear, as he assumed the only reason his boyfriend, wished for or not, would appear at his house would be to pick him up for a date. Jon quickly decided on a black button-up shirt and quickly dashed to the bathroom to apply a fresh coat of deodorant before throwing it over his plain white t-shirt. He dashed downstairs.
In the living room, Jon saw his father sitting on the sofa across from Steve. He assumed this was Steve's first time meeting his parents, as he looked very nervous. "Ah, there he is." Jon's father said when he noticed Jon. Steve stood up quickly, obviously hoping to get out of being further quesitoned by Jon's parents. Jon noticed Steve was dressed fairly similar to him, a blue shirt, hastily tucked into black slacks.
"We better get going, Jon," Steve said awkwardly, "The movie will start soon."
"I want my son back before midnight, Steve." Jon's father said imperiously. Jon thought he heard him add in a whisper, "And don't think I don't know about your 'reputation.'"
"Have a good time!" Jon's mother said, as they closed the door and walked out to Steve's car. Halfway down the path, Steve gently grabbed Jon's hand and they walked the rest of the way to his car, hand in hand.
