He started toward the front door to look outside, but it suddenly vanished as he approached it, replaced by a blank wall with a generic piece of landscape art on it. He looked around the transforming room, trying to find the door, when the wall of his living room started to disappear entirely.
He followed the following carpet as the room expanded into the side yard and then into the adjoining house, looking for an exit. Jon was so involved in exploring that he didn't notice he'd entered his neighbors' dining room.
"What the hell?" Leonard Drullers said. He had been sitting at the family dining room table, slurping his bowl of morning cereal, wearing his usual sweatpants and dirty t-shirt when the wall vanished and his neighbor, Jon Madison, suddenly appeared.
"This is very important. Don't come anywhere near me," Jon said, urgently. "Run...I know this sounds crazy, but reality is changing. My house is turning into a motel and its taking your house with it."
Leonard stared at him, but was sufficiently freaked out himself to get up and try to escape. Neither knew it was pointless to run. Across town, watching on a monitor, Sarah added to her wish.
Leonard suddenly felt his body contort. He looked down at his arms, and saw the fat migrating from them, his somewhat stubby fingers growing longer. They looked almost...no, that couldn't be happening...
