"What are you going to wish for?" Kevin asked.
"Well," Jessie said, "Kiki's statement kind of worried me. I don't want humans going extinct just because cats are taking over...but on the other hand, it'd make things too complicated to just have them stay around as they are."
"What did you have in mind?" Kiki asked.
Jessie smiled. "I wish," she said, "that as the humans are being supplanted by cat-people, they'll change into anime-style cat-people the size of the old housecats: mostly human, with cat ears and tail, fangs, paws for feet, hands covered in fur with pads and claws, and sometimes small furred areas on the body, varying from human to human. I wish that they'd be kept by cat-people as something between pets and companions. I wish that they'll retain their intelligence and sentience and live as long as humans normally did, but would be much less concerned with day-to-day affairs thanks to being cared for by their human masters. Also, I wish that my family and Kevin's family were excepted from the above wishes, and would become anthropomorphic cat-people like us."
Kiki grinned. "Good wish." Already it was taking effect; the humans who'd had their identities assumed by cat-people were changing, all of them running around naked as the ones who hadn't been stripped shrank out of their clothes, screeching in terror as they suddenly gained cat attributes and then coming to varying degrees of acceptance of it.
Jessie smiled; everything had been taken care of, and now she could step into her new life with no problems. It still seemed weird, becoming a member of Earth's newdominant species, going from human boy to the catgirl best friend of one of the first changed, but she was sure she'd grow to love it.
