Inside, Zoe and Jon checked to make sure no one was about, and began to look through the photo album in the living room.
"Here," Jon said. "That must be Grandpa..." she said, point at a female who resembled how she looked now. This was the other grandfather, not the one who had given her the stone...the one who was definitely alive(Definitely as in indisputably). "He always tells us he was a big war hero in Korea...he wouldn't have been drafted as a girl...therefore...he started a family earlier."
"Wouldn't Grandma have been drafted?"
"Well..Grandma is dead...therefore she couldn't change genders...so Grandpa was at home instead of in Korea and married someone else...This guy here..." she said, pointing out a wedding photo in the old album. "And no drafting meant she got married earlier...which means mom...or dad...was older...and so we're older..."
She picked up a purse that was on the counter. "See...Janine Marie Carmichael...age 28" she said, pointing out her driver's license.
"But that is over a decade older...how long did that war last?"
"Girls in those times got married younger than boys. She could have married right out of high school to some boy/girl she never noticed being a man in the other reality."
"So...we know your name...Janine....what about mine? I'm too young to have a driver's license..."
