She wished Karyn were here...but then she realized Karyn wouldn't remember anything she might tell her...not being within range of the wish. She curled up on the bed, curling one of the stuffed animals. It comforted her somehow...she looked through her purse...there were pictures of girls and boys she didn't recognize. Her student ID showed her name as Janine Carmichael.
Zoe, meanwhile, found out his name was now Zachary. He sat down at his computer and found he'd been downloading large files...he opened one...it turned out to be an episode of an old TV show...he began to watch...utterly enthralled with something Zoe would have found lame.
Both were changing...adapting to the new world Zachary had created.
