Karyn stopped. "Wait, that reminds me of something. Our rival school, Lake View, is also an all girl's school. They're even more strict than we are. They've got standardized uniforms, and the teachers count a student's appearance as part of her grade. But get this. They have a male student there. From what I hear, he got 'special permission' to attend, whatever that means. Some of our cheerleaders have seen him a few times in the stands when Lake Point sends its sports teams over to compete. They say he's very popular."
Jon almost laughed. "You're kidding, right? It's gonna be that easy after all?"
"I take it Lake View wasn't an all-girl's school either."
"Not even close."
"So if the wisher is all the way over there, how did he get the stone? And why change this school, too?"
Both girls stopped as the school bell rang. "Looks like we'll have to save that question for later," said Jon. "We have to get to class."
"What for? This is an emergency! Can't we skip a class or two for this?"
"Normally, I'd say you were right, but I don't think we're gonna get very far without the rock. It takes too long to get across town, and someone will spot us, especially when we look like this." Jon eyed their skimpy outfits. "Just give me some time to plan. If I think of anything better, we can sneak out between classes."
Karyn nodded, twirling a nervous finger through her blonde hair. "Okay, that makes sense. But don't take too long, alright? Just imagining what else that boy could be doing right now is making me nervous."
Meanwhile, at Lake View High, Tim was having the time of his life. Strolling down the hall, he waved at all the gorgeous girls watching him pass. They all looked back with expressions of adoration, thrilled at having been noticed by the school's only boy.
It brought him great satisfaction to know that he could pick any one of them, and she would do absolutely anything for him. School was really looking up for him.
