Getting completely naked, the wood elf stared at me in confusion. "Are you not ready for sleep yet, human!? The day is coming and you need rest if you want to be seen as a good thing for the clan." he asked. I was just in my boxer briefs and t-shirt. I shrugged at him and said "I'm fine. This is your bed and room. If you really want to sleep naked, you can." He looked put off by it. "I don't know how you humans can stand to be constrained by so many layers of tight garments! Don't you want to feel the skinship of a bedfellow?" Sontar stated. "If you want to snuggle with me in your sleep, I won't stop you." I teased. He did not bite. "I don't need to 'sleep'. I can trance just fine. It was just an offer to make you feel more at ease." he said. "Thank you for the offer, but you don't need to do anything you don't want to do." I told him. The say war makes strange bedfellows, but it was obvious that Sontar was not someone that was going to get closer to me any time soon. Eventually, Sontar got onto the bed and sat cross-legged next to me. He began his trance and I stayed quiet. I just watched him go.
He spent 4 hours in the trance and then turned his head to face me. I guess he was still aware of his surroundings while in the trance. "You barely got any sleep tonight. I saw you that you would rather look at me then get some rest yourself." he observed. I just shrugged. Sontar smirked confidently and flexed his arms and back. "So, did you like what you see, human?" he teased. He was pretty attractive in that boyish warrior type of way. I nodded my head. I was bisexual and could admit when someone was pretty or sexy. He nodded back and reached a hand back towards my covered foot. Validation seemed to make him puff out his chest a bit. "Well, maybe if you do a good enough job, we can arrange a nice reward for you." he said confidently. Sontar's ego was boosted. I said "I have a lot of work to do if I want to be considered part of the clan." He got up and said "It's time for training. We'll be working on tree jumping and archery today." That sounded like it would be fun. Ayred joined us and he was also naked. "You guys better get ready. Practice is going to start soon." We got dressed.
I followed along as all of the young adults of the village were there. Jumping from tree to tree was not only a valid form of exercise but, in an emergency, it could be their key to saving lives. We did it for a few hours. Going from low to high branches and high to low branches was a bit difficult for me. I fell quite a few times. That made me a bit of a laughingstock among the village. I just had to laugh it off and keep going. I was, by far, the worst at doing it out of everyone gathered. When that was finished, the majority of them left. Not all of the elves were warriors. Some were bards, some were artists, others were teachers. There were even some in the village that had fully dedicated themselves to the art of healing. I decided to go to the archers and I asked them how to be a Sharpshooter. They looked at me up and down and scoffed. I did not blame any of them after my shameful display earlier in the day. However, there was no reason not to let me try. I had the needed level and this was why they were here in the first place. They let me use my bow and aim at the targets. I got them all.
