He slowly walked down the hall and downstairs, where he saw Zoe sitting in the living room. Something was definitely different, because Jon saw an older Zoe sitting there. She looked to be nineteen or twenty.
The room had been redecorated...a new giant TV, and subdued decor more in line with Zoe's tastes...although a bit toned down for her. The bookshelf in the corner was full of occult books, and there was a large wardrobe that had not been there before.
She looked up at him. "Oh...you are still here..." she said, sounding surprised. "Why don't you go away?"
Jon felt himself compelled to leave the house...as he walked through the neighborhood...unsure of where he was going, only compelled to keep his distance from his home, he noticed something subtly different about the neighborhood. IT had a more gothic feel to it. Not in the sense that Zoe was a goth...but the architecture...they had an old-time look to them...as if he'd stepped into some European city.
The cars looked different as well...along the same lines...as if the design conception had been totally different. He tried to pin down Zoe's wish....had she wished for the town to go goth...and been misunderstood?
He paused, trying to figure out where to go...what to see to learn more...he headed toward...
