There, in the corner of their bay, was a brooding Epsilon. P02-Delta only had one egg fertilized out of the 3 inside her. From the way that Delta explained it to us, Epsilon was pretty cold with her and only wanted to get it over with. He barely got his DDM to half mast before pressing it against her. "It's not going to go inside if you don't get it harder." she told him. He glared at her and said "Stop talking or it will go down even further." He shoved the half erect data delivery module in as best he could and just blasted all of the nanite paste that he had in his data nodes. There was no pleasure for her except maybe for the stretch from the copious amount. It was probably only through blasting it hard enough with everything he had that caused it to fertilize in that full bath. I was pretty sure at this point that Epsilon was gay. Definitely nothing was wrong with that, but he better not try to mess with me. As long as he kept his hands to himself, there would be no more problems. Alpha and Zeta got up and walked over to the medical bay to check if the eggs were fertilized. Epsilon was left by himself.

Unless he was going to try again, Alpha was probably going to have to breed again with P02-Delta. They were down 2 eggs as it now stood. Since we were just waiting around for the eggs to be laid, the female aeromorphs of our series could take it easy and rest. I was pretty happy with that. Aside from helping out the humans with their work around the base, Gamma and I were free to do whatever we wanted. That gave us only a little bit of exp., but it was better than nothing. 3 days later, we saw Beta and P02-Delta lay their eggs. My Delta and Zeta laid their eggs the next day. Zeta had a full 3 egg clutch. Alpha was very proud of himself. All of us looked at the pile of eggs that was gathered in the medical hangar bay. There was one for the P01 series and another for the P02 series. Epsilon did not look too happy as he stood off to the side. Everyone else was pretty excited. Obviously, our pile was bigger than theirs and therefore, we had factional pride. When the comlink fired up in my head, I heard a brusque man at base control call for me and P02-Delta to report to the main hangar.

I wondered what they wanted. I looked at her and she only shrugged back. We walked over together and saluted when we got in front of the squadron commander. We just stood there. There was a longer than normal pause from our commander. He was not one to make us demonstrate rank. Zooming in on him, I could see his face. He was pretty uncomfortable and was looking directly at his clipboard. Not once did he look up at us as we walked into the hangar. 'He was fine with it when he was briefing us on the mission earlier in the week.' I thought to myself. He finally put us at ease and said "The results of the... breeding mission... are now in." he started with the pause. I was right that he did not want to be here. Not at all. "The pairings of P02-Alpha and Zeta as well as P01-Gamma and Beta achieved optimal... fertilization during th-the... breeding." he stuttered. It made me roll my eyes at him. He did not see it because his eyes were buried in the clipboard. "Your pairings were sub-optimal. It is an especially apparent failure with P02-Epsilon and Delta." That made Delta deflate a bit.
