Outside, Zoe walked over to where a sporty red sedan was parked and unlocked the doors. "You are just starting out in this business," she said, as he got in the passenger side. "This is your first big gig...and it is my first role as a cast member. Two years just guesting on a show...none of us want to lose this...I mean, the premise is a bit silly...magic wishing rock, but I think we can get some good plots out of it."
"Drive in with me tomorrow again?"
"That's fine," he said, agreeably, since he had no idea where he supposedly lived or how to get back...or how he was going to get back home...or if he could.
"So, are you going to ask Lauren out?"
"What?" He asked, confused.
"Come now..." she said as they continued down the freeway. He looked out the window at the California landscape. "I saw how she was looking at you during the table read. But, if you are, you need to be careful...you have to work with her for at least one season, if not more."
They pulled into a spot near an apartment building and she urged him inside, stopping for the mail. "How's your new flat?" She asked.
"Great..." He said, catching a glance at the name on the envelopes, which was Georgia Duffy.
"Well, you needed a place to stay, there was one for rent here..."
He let her guide him upstairs and discovered 'Georgia' lived across the hall from him. He entered the apartment with the key he found in his pocket. Inside, he found a couch, kitchen, TV, laptop, and a few personal items visible. He went to the laptop and googled Georgia Duffy first. Actress, age 23, born in Birmingham, had been in a few movies, and some TV shows. He googled himself...apparently he was a relative newcomer, just out of a theater arts high school back east...and this was his first Hollywood role. There wasn't a page on the You Are What You Wish show, except for some articles about it being a pilot, and what the premise was.
He googled the other name he'd heard...Shannon Ferguson. Or rather...the actress playing Karyn. Mother also an actress, grew up in Hollywood. Began in commercials at age 3. Had her first major breakout role at age 9. Several awards...rehab at 18, and now at 20 was trying to reestablish herself after her last role had earned her a Golden Raspberry award.
"Weird," he mumbled. He needed to figure out how to get back to reality. He googled his town, Lake Point....it didn't seem to exist here.
