Jon hurried over to Karyn's house, the rain was getting heavier and heavier and now the wind was picking up as well. By the time Jon got over to Karyn's house, Jon was drenched. He opened the door and went to Karyn's room. The man in the fedora was lying on the ground. Jon got quite a turn as he entered the room and saw the man's red eyes satring blindly at the ceiling. Karyn was sitting with the back to the backboard of the bed, her legs curled up under her chin and she was rocking herself slightly. She looked terrified. Cautiously, Jon toed the man on the floor, suprisingly the body was as stiff as stone.
"That's weird, it like he has full rigomortis, but I didn't make the wish that long ago." Jon said puzzled
He bent down to take the guy's pulse and suddenly the body desintagrated. Jon heard a voice in side his head for a moment.
"Little fool, did you think it would be that easy. The stone is mine, only I can wield it."
Karyn was looking wide eyed at the spot where the body had been. She was shaking and started to cry. Jon tried to comfort her by sitting next to her and putting his arm around her. she cried onto his shoulder.
"Why is this happening? What the hell is the stone anyway? God Jon, I'm scared." She said between sobs. "Maybe we should just give him the stone."
Jon shook his head, "I don't know who or what this guy is, but I have a feeling that nothing good will come from that guy having the stone. My grandpa sent me this stone for a reason."
"Well what are we going to do Jon? What if he attacks your families?"
Jon put his arm around Karyn. "I don't think he can, you said the only reason he could touch you was because you have had magic used on you. But I'll tell you one thing, I'm not just going to stand around. Let's run away, maybe we can out run him."
Jon wrote a note to Karyn's parents saying that they were alright and to tell his mom not to call the military or anything and pinned it to her door.
Jon stood and taking the stone out of his pocket said, I wish that Karyn and I were in... Shangrila. That's as remote as it gets."
The stone flashed and Jon and Karyn found themselves in a beautiful courtyard surrounded by Tibetan/ Nepalese buildings and temples.
Jon and Karyn searched around until the found a small room that had had two cots in them. Worn out by fear and exaustion they both went to bed and had troubled dreams.
Or at least Jon slept. Karyn was awake for quite a long time starring at her sleeping friend, her eyes seemed to shine in the darkness. When she finally did fall asleep she had terrible dreams of men in black suits with fedoras with red eyes.
