After bringing them to my home, they were amazed that I gave them the room on the 1st floor. I had to train them up a bit to make sure that they would survive the fights that I put them in. The female drider's name was Zivith. A female drider was much bigger than a male. She was and she continued to try and dominate Szicut. The femboy felt like an easy target at first glance. Unfortunately for her, he was still too strong and experienced for her to do so. We needed to get her fit and ready to fight. It was very important. The raw strength and dexterity were there, but you needed more than that to survive the pits. You needed cunning and strategy. Using weapons was also needed. You could only get so far using their natural abilities to engage an enemy. Especially when they were up against the trained demi-humans in the pits. I gave her a sword and taught her how to use it. "You have to make sure that your abilities support your fighting. Not the other way around." I told her. She huffed after a tough training session and said "Yes, master." I had to make sure there was food for them too.

Being that they were carnivorous creatures, I had to purchase a lot of meat. They liked it raw more, but the various spices and seasonings added when cooking the meat interested them. I thought it was endearing. After a few more days we went to the colosseum to fight. I decided to fight with both Szicut and Zivith in a few matches. We were fighting other demi-humans. Having a fight was good and the driders used their webbing to obstruct them in their charge. I was able to move around it and get up close to them. I was able to cut down a couple of them with my blade. Another of the demi-humans charged at Szicut because he was smaller. His enchanted shortsword that dealt lightning damage roared to life as he fought back. He was able to fight back and cut the aggressive naga down. The final dogkin gladiator was pierced by a spear and killed. With that, we were able to get paid. We all were fine, so I decided to go double or nothing. They sent out some slaves on chariots and they surrounded us. We were going to have to get them all off the chariots. That was easy for them to do.

Catching the chariot riders off guard would be hard to do. There were 7 of them and each had a spearman riding next to them. If you were not knowledgeable about how to disrupt them, it would be hard. I told them to focus the webbing tossing across into the spokes of the wheels. Since they were all professionals, these would all be to the death. Unless the royal box wanted to save them, they would not be able to appeal to the crowd. When they could do it, it destroyed the chariot and the 2 riding on it were forced to engage us in foot. That was good for me. I could go and get them. With the others, it was about dodging the chariots and their weapons. Since the driders could spider walk against the walls, they were able to avoid them all together. I was able to pick off the ones on foot because of my natural boost to agility. There was a needed reliance on my slaves to dislodge them. They were able to do it eventually and I could kill the others. When we finished killing them, we got jeers and boos. They still hated me. I just smiled at them because the money would flow in. It was very simple.

If everyone in the audience hated me, it was practically the same thing as everyone loving me. People would still pay top rates to see me in action. They would just want me to fail instead of triumph. It would make anyone who did defeat me an instant celebrity and hero. We then left the colosseum and went back home. After a few days to ensure they were healed up, we went back and the process repeated. Taking on the gladiator slaves from the pits was easy money for us. Szicut, Zivith and I all fought together, but we also went for 1 on 1 fights too. That was where the real money was. Because the incentives were so high, fighting alone was worth more than with my slaves. That was fine as long as they could handle fights on their own. Szicut had proven himself with the prize fight. It was still touch and go for Zivith. She could win against the newbies, but those with 3 to 6 wins were difficult to her. Since it was not good for her to die, I could not make much money off of her. Szicut could punch a bit above his station as he had the enchanted weapon to use against others. He won a lot.
